I was legitimately mad at my mom when I was younger for not giving me red hair and naming me Ariel. I’ve forgiven her about the name but I still wish I had the hair… all of my favourite people have red hair, including my mom.
I bought my first pair of real running shoes a month before I started university. I hate running shoes so it took me a long time to pick a pair I could see myself wearing. Eventually, my mom picked out a deep purple and blue pair - the only ones with colour - which I ended up getting because, in her words, "they're ridiculous like you."
